Larry Bird is an American professional basketball player, coach, and executive. A power forward, he played his entire thirteen-season career with the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA); winning three NBA championships with his team. He is the only person in NBA history to have been named all of Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player, Finals MVP, All-Star MVP, Coach of the Year, and Executive of the Year. He was also a member of the gold medal-winning 1992 U.S. Olympic basketball team, the “Dream Team;” and later head coach, president of basketball operations, advisor, and consultant, for the Indiana Pacers. He is nicknamed “The Hick from French Lick” and “Larry Legend.” He is 6′9″.

Larry is the son of Georgia and Claude Joseph “Joe” Bird. He was raised in French Lick, IN. His brother, Eddie Bird, played college basketball. He is married to Dinah Mattingly. Larry has a daughter with his former wife Janet Condra, and two children, who are adopted, with Dinah.
