Jon Polito was an American actor. His roles include the films Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, Highlander, The Freshman, Miller’s Crossing, Barton Fink, The Rocketeer, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Crow (1994), Fluke, Bushwacked, The Big Lebowski, Stuart Little, The Tailor of Panama, The Man Who Wasn’t There, American Gangster, Gangster Squad, and Big Eyes, and the series The Gangster Chronicles (1981), Crime Story, and Homicide: Life on the Street.

He was the son of Delaida “Dee” and John Amedei Polito. All of his grandparents were Italian. His brother was animator Jack Polito. Jon was married to actor Darryl Armbruster, until his death.

Jon’s paternal grandfather was named John Polito.

Jon’s paternal grandmother was named Felice.

Jon’s maternal grandfather was Christopher Pompie/Pompei/Salamone/Salomone (the son of Nicola Salomone and Annunziata Pompei). Christopher was born in Province of Matera, Basilicata. Nicola was the son of Francesco Salomone and Maria Rosa De Sanctis.

Jon’s maternal grandmother was Rose Cusanelli (the daughter of John Paul Cusanelli and Maria Victoria Manzelli). John was the son of Angelo Cusanelli and Maria Vittoria Rao. Jon’s great-grandmother Maria was the daughter of Christopher Manzelli and Maria Victoria.
