He is the son of writer and producer John Christian Plummer and actress Maia Guest. His parents married in an Episcopalian ceremony. He was raised in Cold Spring, New York, as well as Los Angeles and New York City.
Charlie’s paternal grandfather is Joseph Thornton Plummer, Jr. (the son of Joseph Thornton Plummer and Harriet Louise Durbin/Durben).
