Joachim Löw is a German professional footballer and coach. He played for SC Freiburg, VfB Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt, Karlsruher SC, FC Schaffhausen, FC Winterthur, and FC Frauenfeld, and the West German national team. He has managed FC Winterthur (youth), FC Frauenfeld, VfB Stuttgart (as lead coach, assistant, and interim), Fenerbahçe, Karlsruher SC, Adanaspor, Tirol Innsbruck, and Austria Wien, and the German national team (as lead, and assistant).

Joachim is from Schönau im Schwarzwald, a town in the district of Lörrach in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Schwarzwald is situated in the Black Forest, close to the Swiss border.

Joachim is married to Daniela. He is a Roman Catholic.

    he is sometimes said to have Czech Jewish roots (I’ve read that in both English and Italian language forums). It seems a speculation.
