Ike Davis is an American professional baseball player. A first baseman, he played for the New York Mets, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Oakland Athletics, and the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB).

He is the son of Millie and Ron Davis (Ronald Gene Davis). His father, a Major League Baseball pitcher, played from 1978 to 1988; he was a power relief pitcher, and an American League All-Star in 1981.

His father is Baptist. His mother is Jewish, of Austrian Jewish, Polish Jewish, and Lithuanian Jewish ancestry. His maternal great-aunt was a Holocaust survivor.

Ike was raised partly in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Ike’s paternal grandfather was William Leroy Davis (the son of William Robert Davis and Ora Beatrice Eaves). Ike’s grandfather William was born in Texas. Ike’s great-grandfather William was the son of Jacob Uriah Davis and Rhoda VanBuskirk. Ora was the daughter of William Louis Eaves and Ella Monroe Hart.

Ike’s paternal grandmother was Sarah Catherine Murff (the daughter of Lewis/Louis Ellison Murff and Ollie Lieu Bell). Sarah was born in Texas. Louis was the son of Randolph Smith Murff and Sarah Catherine Swanzy. Ollie was the daughter of John Andrew Bell and Sarah Caroline Evans.

Ike’s maternal grandfather was Bernard Gollinger (the son of Benjamin/Ben Gollinger and Gussie Morginsky). Bernard was born in New York, to an Austrian Jewish father and a Polish Jewish mother. Benjamin was the son of Judah Gollinger and Blume. Gussie was the daughter of Yankel Marginsky and Sarah.

Ike’s maternal grandmother was named Harriet (the daughter of Isaac).
