Georgia is the daughter of Fiona, a drama and vocal teacher, and Paul Groome, a publican and chef. She has a daughter with her partner, actor Rupert Grint.

Georgia’s paternal grandfather was Richard Brian Groome (the son of Herbert Alfred Groome and Olive Bertha Layzell). Richard was born in Derbyshire. Herbert was the son of George Groome and Florence Gertrude Adams. Olive was the daughter of Frederick John Layzell and Alice Catherine Branch.

Georgia’s paternal grandmother was Patricia Platts (the daughter of Robert Tom Platts and Dorothy Gladys Mitchell). Patricia was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire West Riding.
