Isn’t it interesting that some people’s ‘One Drop’ automatically
means that they are Black and another person’s One Drop
    means they are multiracial?
We are told and sold that Meghan Markle and
Kamala Harris are Black, not multiracial or even Biracial.

So, according to the perspectives in these comments Eva Mendes
is not Black but ‘multiracial? What about her One Drop?
What’s the difference between her and Meghan Markle?

And please don’t say it’s Eva appearance that makes the difference
because if we weren’t ‘told’ that Meghan Markle was Black, I bet the farm nobody would even think that she wasn’t White.

Also if Meghan is One Drop Black wouldn’t
that make her children One Drop Black as well, no matter how White
they look? Which to me Meghan nor does Meghan
    and Harry’s children look Black.
    So what are they?

. I have Biracial, Multiracial people in my family because
    of our European lineage
and many of my family members look White much like Eva
Megan and Kamala. My nephew’s grandson has red hair
White complexion hazel eyes and looks very much like Meghan
    and Harry’s offspring.

My point being is that IMO the One Drop Rule is and has always been
a fools gold chase in other words: meaningless.

One Drop was enacted for Economic reasons ONLY after Chattel Slavery
which that reason was to continue and maintain a cheap labor source which was imperative to build the empire. Miscegenation was not uncommon
and the slave pool was changing.
Research Elizabeth Key and and Partus sequitur ventrem

Chattel Slavery, Share cropping, Black Codes, Jim Crow, One Drop
and Nixon’s War on Drugs were all enacted because of Economics.

Research the Infamous Kentucky Slave Trader
Lewis Robards and his Fancy Girls.
Research Elizabeth Key and Partus sequitur ventrem
    Research Plaçage
    Research the Peonage System.

Everything in this world is about three things:
    S e x , Power and Money.
Race is just a construct of all three of these elements.
Always has been, always will be.

    • myfellowwhitepeople says:

Kamala is not your average African American, she is the daughter of a Jamaican immigrant and an Indian.
To me she looks Back and identifies as such, that’s how she feels and looks

      • myfellowwhitepeople says:

and race is far from just a social construct

      • myfellowwhitepeople says:

to me she seems to be triracial like many Cubans are, very different from Kamala and Meghan who seem to be Black

      • RaFariBee11 says:

So, you’re saying that Race is determined simply according
to how someone feels and/or looks?
How exactly does a person feel Black?

I agree a person takes on and becomes a part of their environment and how other people see them which may or may not be accurate. Which is why so many “one Drop’ers’ were
able to pass back in the day.

And to be honest what exactly is an ‘average’ African American?
What does that even mean? I don’t think anybody, African American or otherwise is average. We’re all different.
My linage is not the same as my Best Friend’s lineage.
We may have similar outside physical
traits but our DNA is NOT the same.

        Black Americans are not Africans
and even Africans born in Africa will say that as well.

Kamala is Multiracial she is not One Drop Black.
Her father is Multiracial as well.
Her father most likely has Scottish lineage.
One Drop does NOT make someone Black nor does One
Drop wash away any and all of a Black or Multiracial or Biracial person’s European bloodline and DNA.

One Drop was enacted because of Economics Only.
I bet the farm many of the Planters Biracial offspring
(in Colonel America during Chattel Slavery) didn’t think or feel themselves to be Black.
Many of the White compassionate fathers in Colonial America
of Biracial offspring sent their Biracial child North.
        Research Wilberforce Ohio.

Also especially research Elizabeth Key and Partus sequitur ventrem/ Elizabeth was the offspring of a White Planter
Thomas Key in Colonial American Virgina and his Black Slave.

Elizabeth was born under English common law, in which children’s social status was determined by their fathers, who had an obligation to support both legitimate and illegitimate children. This was very important as far as ECONOMICAL reasons regarding inheritance of property.

Elizabeth , assisted by her White attorney who was a British
Subject Indeturned Servant studying Law (and became her husband) sued the Colony of Virigina and won her case.
She also inherited her father’s property.
Johnny Depp is a descent of Elizabeth Key .

Not too soon after Elizabeth won her case the newly formed Colony very QUICKLY abolished English Common Law in America and enacted Partus sequitur ventrem which is Latin and means:
That Which is Brought Forth, follows the womb.
in other words: you are what your mother is.
Enacting Partus was imperative to do because the Empire could
not have been built without a cheap labor source.

Under Partus, miscegenation flourished as the
White males especially the wealthy males were no longer
financially responsible for his Biracial offspring and as a financial
bonus wealthy Planters could increase his ‘slave inventory’.
        Win, Win, no?

So yes, Race is a construct of three elements : Sex , Power
        and Money.
A construct meaning in etymology :”put together the parts of in their proper place and order,” from Latin constructus.”

Always has been always will be.

  2. Jonas says:

Well, she’s obviusly multiracial, my best guess is 60% euro, about, 20% native, and the rest being some black and maybe middle eastern.

  3. nika676767 says:

According to me she looks like she could have native which may be true cause many Cuban people also have Taino descent

  4. coco says:

Also she’s a darker olive skin tone when bright lights aren’t flashing on her like in both those pics currently on here. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/93/EvaMendescropped.jpg

She deleted the Instagram post of her mentioning her afro-Cuban roots but she left it on her Facebook: https://fb.watch/h35VP5UvV9/?mibextid=qC1gEa
