You can be mixed all you like, there is noing special about it. You live and die like all people. You can claim both sides, or one side, but nine times outta ten you will not be accepted into that white inner circle. The majority of mixed people in reality know this. This is why they try so hard to claim being mixed, as they believe in someway this will give them a hand up on not being “seen” as Black.
lol…. And you know this to be fact? Are you mixed? white? Or are you black yourself? …You see, the reason I ask, is because as a mixed person of Latin origin myself, comments such as those that you claimed, nine times out of ten, came from a black person in my lifetime thus far. I find it interesting that those comments come from black people. Why don’t I ever hear a white person say things like that? Are they even thinking it?
There must be some sort of motivating factor behind why it is that a black person would tell a person of mixed (black and white, or black and anything else) race something such as this. Are they trying to discourage that person from denying their black ancestry in some way? Does it come from some sort of resentment? and if so, why?
…I would suspect that there are far more mixed people in this country alone than people realize, and many people don’t even have a clue. Is there a reason why a person that is mixed with black African ancestry has a responsibility to claim it? Is it important for them to do it, even if that particular person doesn’t look it or was never raised in the African American culture or community? What is the significance of the African American identity over any other race or culture? I’m just curious.
I just learned that the actor Tom Sizemore is actually bi-racial (white & black) ….Apparently, his mother is African American and his father is obviously white, because he doesn’t look like anything remotely close to any kind of African or African American ….I suspect his mother is not fully black…it’s gotta be the case for him to look as he does. I don’t think he considers himself as a black African American….but apparently his Wikipedia page classes him in the “African American actors” category, among other categories at the bottom of the page. lol :)
I wonder why they don’t call him “A person of African descent” instead? If it were any other race or nationality, they would say “People of Italian, Irish, etc. descent”, but when there is any African or African American ancestry in their bloodline, they class them as “African American…actor, singer, blank, blank…etc.” …Anyone ever noticed that? I find it all interesting….It must be an American thing…. I’m not from America, so I find it very interesting…. lol :)
Tom Sizemore is not biracial, it’s clearly a mistake since anyone can edit wikipedia writing all the shit he wants
Not so fast on Tom Sizemore. Although what I could find was confusing.
He apparently claimed to be half-black once:

These are his maternal grandparents, Sam Schannault and Mildred Hayes. They are listed as white.

He talks about his grandpa here, and says he was part Native and part French, instead of black.

also his Imdb page says he is Welsh via paternal side and French/African American via maternal side but I think it’s wrong

(Brothers Paul Sizemore, Aaron Sizemore, and TOM SIZEMORE with his twin sons Jagger and Jayden.)
I think he looks a bit like Michael Madsen who also claims Native Am. ancestry

curiously Madsen’ Imdb page says:
“Was considered for the role of Sergeant Mike Horvath in Saving Private Ryan (1998). The role eventually went to Madsen’s friend, Tom Sizemore”
You might be right, but there’s also something in Wikipedia that seems to be consistent, which is what I mentioned in my original comment.
Where ever there is a famous person of mixed racial or ethnic heritage, they will categorize them as “of Italian, or Greek, or Welsh, or etc. DESCENT”, which seems fair in my opinion, but if they are partly black as well, they always seem to categorize them as “African American actor, performer, etc.”, instead of as the other descriptors. Why don’t they categorize them as being “of African or African American DESCENT”?? …Why does it seem exclusively “African American blank, blank, blank, etc.” ????? …Has anyone ever noticed that???
Try looking up anyone who is racially mixed with African or African American ancestry…..you’ll begin to notice the pattern. I find that to be interesting….Don’t you??? lol :)
one-drop rule

one-drop rule
One Drop Rule??? …Are you serious right now?! You do know that so-called rule is no longer a legal rule in this country anymore, right?!
…That’s like saying that women weren’t allowed to vote at one time, but now they can, but some people still want to believe it’s true.
So an invalid rule is supposed to be something to continue to uphold? …huh???!!!!
he looks like a tanned white guy to me my boyfriend who is white looks alot like him
he has european features, he looks like a white guy with afro-textured hair and brown skin.
has this uncle tom ever dated a black woman?so much for black is beautiful.
…Uncle Tom??!!! …You are the ignorant one alright…It’s painfully obvious that Derek Jeter is mixed! You’d have to be a moron not to see that!!! …So for you to expect that he only be black and represent the black race, therefore expecting him to date only black women, makes you the biggest moron on the planet!!! …Uncle Tom??? …Really??? …Take your dumb ass back to school and learn someting for a change!!! This is 2011 and I’m so sick and tired of people like you always assuming that a person of mixed (black/white) race is ONLY BLACK!!! …Get with the program people!!!
mixed girl you are the moron because i’m sure his birth certificate doesn’t say mixed it says black.
…And how would you know what his birth certificate says? Do you know him personally? Were you there at his birth? Do you know his parents personally? …Don’t assume anything. My “Quadroon” son was born in Colorado in 1988 and he is classified as WHITE, because his father (my ex-husband) is White and that state classified mixed children by the race of their fathers….So what are you going to say about that? …Are you going to accuse me of lying now??? …Besides, despite what you may think, not all biracials look black….So me and my son don’t look black and to say that we are only black would be as foolish as me saying that we’re only white!
mixed girl,i don’t have to be at a black mans birth to know he is a black man.his birth certificate says he’s black because his father is black thats a fact he is black.deal with it.
lol …Seems you have to deal with accepting that this is 2011 and you need to stop reciting the racist white man’s mantra of the “One Drop Rule”! …That’s something I’ll never understand…why many blacks (as well as racist whites) will still cling to such an out-dated, archaic and unjust myth….And it is indeed a myth because America is the only country where this ignorance lives on in small-minds! …And again, you nor I really know what his birth certificate actually says and regardless of what it says, you nor I have the right to identify him as only being black—That’s HIS choice since after all, he is MIXED and mixed people like myself, have the right to choose. …Now YOU deal with that!
His father may be black, but that doesn’t mean he’s solely black. Don’t discount his white mother’s contribution to his existence! He has a white family–I don’t know too many black folks that have a white family, do you???? …Stop focusing solely on the black side of his ancestry! This isn’t the 1800s nor is it the Jim Crow era!
mixed chioldren arent classified by the race of their father…I am white, I have 2 brothers who are half black and half white (we share the same irish father) and hey were born in america and they are classified as black on their birth certs (even though they’re genetically not just black). Your son is white because he is 3/4 white…wentworth miller is white too since he’s 3/4 white (his father is mixed race)…dont say silly stuff, you are NOT what you father is, you are a combination of both. I agree with you thought that rafael is a complete idiot, but to say someone is JUST what their father is is beyond silly
Rafael you are one stupid, ignorant asshole. He’s mixed so how tf is he black? Btw, he did date a woman that is mixed with black… he dated Mariah Carey for awhile.
look at pages with white ethnic groups then look at black groups why is it more negativity on black mixed celebs than white groups interesting. then think about your state y black people neighborhood worse than whites then think about country why are european country richer than african country y is black associated with bad and white with good hence white lie white house clean white, black magick black thought black hole black skinn aaawwww. this is why malcolm x died because he suggest u remove the negative connotation from black then you remove the so called handicapp frombein black solets start black love black family black kindness black friend black sister black acceptance pass it on
Hey, in a word you are why there is more negativity. I was reading your opinion and thinking to myself; “Is that guy serious?” You started off ok like you were actually going to say something helpful and then you went right to the stereotypes and racist comments. You said look at the pages with the White ethnic groups and I notice that they don’t have people coming on there saying how White neighborhoods are worse and how Africa is richer than Europe and if you want to know the honest truth Africa isn’t poor. It’s one of the biggest suppliers of diamonds in the world so I don’t get where your information comes from other than wishful thinking. The greed there is terrible but Africa isn’t poor by a long shot. People use Black in a negative way except for money. They say you’re in the black and American Express has a black card which is for extreme wealthy people so people are coming around when it comes to black. I just want you to know one more thing about Black; it’s beautiful and no one is disputing that one.
