David Ogden Stiers was an American actor and conductor. His roles included television’s M*A*S*H, Perry Mason, The Dead Zone, and Regular Show, the films Magic, The Man with One Red Shoe, The Accidental Tourist, Doc Hollywood, Beauty and the Beast (1991), Iron Will, Pocahontas, Everyone Says I Love You, Jungle 2 Jungle, The Curse of the Jade Scorpion, The Majestic, Spirited Away, and Lilo & Stitch, and numerous stage performances. He was conductor of the Newport Symphony Orchestra.

David was the son of Margaret Elizabeth (Ogden) and Kenneth Truman Stiers.

David’s paternal grandfather was Clayton/Clay Bunce Stiers (the son of James Francis Stiers and Martha L. Cornell). Clayton was born in Woodhull, Henry, Illinois. James was the son of Ralph Stiers and Catherine. Martha was possibly the daughter of William Cornell and Nancy Jeffreys.

David’s paternal grandmother was Nina May Younglove (the daughter of Truman Main Younglove and Cassandra/Cassie Frances Marden). Nina was born in Pennsylvania. Truman was the son of Samuel Abner Younglove and Rhoda Main. Cassandra was the daughter of Sumner Mellville Marden and Alta/Minnie Ritter.

David’s maternal grandfather was David Freeman Ogden (the son of Isaac Martin Ogden and Anna Louisa Johnson). David’s grandfather David was born in Chicago, Cook, Illinois. Isaac was the son of Francis Morrell Ogden and Jane Elizabeth Mahone. Anna was Swedish.

David’s maternal grandmother was Laurah Frances Mahan (the daughter of John A. Mahan and Mary Jane/Jennie McClellan/McClellen). Laurah was born in Rochester, Monroe, New York, to Canadian parents.
