Dana Andrews was an American actor. He was President of the Screen Actors Guild, from August 8, 1963 to June 3, 1965.
Dana was the son of Annis (Speed) and The Rev. Charles Forrest Andrews, a Baptist minister. His brother was actor Steve Forrest. He was raised partly in Huntsville, Texas. Dana was married to Janet Murray, until her death, and then to actress Mary Todd, until his death. He had two children, including musician and composer David Andrews, with Janet; and three children with mary.
Dana’s paternal grandfather was named David William Andrews (the son of Thomas M. Andrews and Mary). David was born in Georgia.
