Carmen Maura is a Spanish actress. In a career that has spanned six decades, she is known for her collaborations with noted Spanish films directors Pedro Almodóvar and Álex de la Iglesia.

Carmen is the daughter of Salvador García Santa Cruz and Carmen Maura Arenzana.

Carmen’s maternal grandfather was Luis Maura y Nadal (the son of Bartolomé Maura y Montaner and Magdalena Nadal Bosch). Bartolomé was born in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, the son of Bartomeu Maura i Gelabert and Margalida Montaner i Llampayes.

Carmen’s maternal grandmother was named María Arenzana y Chinchilla.
