Buck Showalter is an American professional baseball manager, player, and television analyst. He is the manager of the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB), and, previously, the New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, and Baltimore Orioles. He has worked as a commentator for ESPN and the YES Network.

Buck is the son of Linda and William Showalter, who was a high school teacher and principal, and had played college football. He was raised in Century, Florida. He is married to Angela, with whom he has two children.

Buck’s paternal grandfather was William Nathaniel Showalter (the son of Nathaniel Pryor Showalter and Mary Lou/Louise “Manie” Roberts). William was born in Virginia.
