Anne is the daughter of Kate McCauley (Kathleen Ann McCauley), an actress, and Gerald Thomas Hathaway, a labor attorney. She was raised in Milburn, New Jersey, from the age of six. Anne is married to actor Adam Shulman, with whom she has two children.
Anne is of approximately 62.5% Irish ancestry. Anne’s father has Irish, French, English, and German ancestry. Anne’s mother is of Irish descent. Anne has said that she has roots in Cork and Donegal on her father’s side. Anne stated in an article on News.com.au that she also has distant Native American ancestry. It is not clear if this ancestry has been verified/documented. If true, it could only be on her father’s side; her mother’s family were all recent Irish immigrants. Anne was raised Catholic, and later became a non-denominational Christian.
Anne has said that she has a very pale complexion because she tries to avoid being in the sun, as her family has a long and tragic history of skin cancer.
Anne’s patrilineal line appears to trace to Nicholas Hathaway, who was born, c. 1595, in Kingscote, Gloucestershire, England.
Anne’s paternal grandfather was Robert Earnest/Ernest Hathaway (the son of Pearl LeRoy Hathaway and Carrie Melinda Sensabaugh). Robert was born in Pennsylvania. Pearl was the son of James A. Hathaway and Emma Louisa Reed. Carrie was the daughter of Frederick Jay Sensabaugh and Myrtie F. W. Foster.
Anne’s paternal grandmother was Jacqueline Anne Hughes (the daughter of Joseph T. Hughes and Pauline-Mathilde Turpin). Joseph was born in Pennsylvania, to Irish parents, Thomas Hughes and Catherine Chambers. Pauline-Mathilde was French, born in Marne, France.
Anne’s maternal grandfather was Joseph Daniel “Joe” McCauley (the son of James Francis McCauley and Catherine/Katherine M. Crosson). Joe McCauley was born in Pennsylvania, and was a prominent radio personality in Philadelphia. James was born in Pennsylvania, to Irish parents, James H. McCauley and Mary Mulholland. Catherine was born in Northern Ireland.
Anne’s maternal grandmother was Roseline/Rosalina Marie Sinnott/Sennott (the daughter of James M. Sinnott and Florence M. Waters). Roseline was born in Pennsylvania. James and Florence were born in Pennsylvania, and all of their own parents were Irish.

Oh Anne, I’m disappointed in you. You just had to jump on that exotic Native train when you don’t have anything to prove you are of such claims or the blood quantum to say you are.
Disappointed!
Celebrities always try and claim some “possible” native American ancestry
lmao I know right, how pathetic.
It’s “exotic” to them. Being just Irish, English, or German is seen as “plain.”
I honestly don’t understand why a lot of actors do this.
Didn’t you know??? Its “racist” to have white pride…. :/
correction; her eyes are hazel (light brown) and her hair is dark brown (brunette) I think it should be listed
Her eyes aren’t hazel they are brown. Not even light brown more of a medium brown.
correction; what the absolute hell are you talking about, her eyes are an exact hazel they’re light brown with golden and even slight green shades to them, stop making up your own definitions and posting them as facts;

If you have to examine her eyes at microscopic levels in bright light to find a tiny bit of gold (there’s no green) then her eyes are BROWN!!!
Nobody agrees with you!
By god her eyes are the same color as her hair in that picture.
my corrections are valid you just seem to be headstrong for your own selfish reasons, her eyes are clearly a light golden brown and do contain subtle green, open your eyes mate
correction; her eyes are hazel (light brown) is there some way this website can lock the information on these celebrities hair and eye colour so annoying ignoramus’s like smiley can’t keep contesting valid information listed
The fact that you want to “lock the information” on this site shows that you won’t listen to anybody else’s opinions. Nobody who has replied to you has agreed with you. I wonder if you’re trolling.
she looks typical native-american, although she has pale
scin
you must be a troll for sure.
Rather then slandering a person how about you try to disprove them. Calling someone a troll doesn’t make you look cool.
andrew: don’t dream, that I’m DK1x
I hope u were joking saying “she looks typical native-american, although she has pale
scin”, do u still believe that?
I’m apologize. I was relative new at this site, naiv and
believed at that “native” thing. Before I noticed, that
99% hollywood has “native”ancestry.
I would say, she looks french. And scottish. Scotts are
(mostly) more “dark”, as other north-europeans
I ment her look
Ethnic didn’t noticed, “how scottish and french”
she is
THANK YOU FOLLERS.
This webesite would be awful with you.
I hope you mean, “without you”, because, at the moment, I am here.
lmao yep. I missed the out :)
Yes she makes this website awful. Why I gave her editor rights I dont know. lol
Her parents look nothing like her, I think she just has a very unique gene combination.
