Andre Braugher was an American actor and comedian. His roles included the series Kojak, Homicide: Life on the Street, Gideon’s Crossing, Hack, Thief (2006), Men of a Certain Age, House, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, New Girl, BoJack Horseman, in voice performance; and The Good Fight, the films Glory (1989), Striking Distance, Primal Fear, Get on the Bus, City of Angels, Frequency, Duets, Poseidon (2006), Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Stephen King’s The Mist, Passengers (2008), Salt (2010), The Gambler (2014), Spirit Untamed, in voice role; and She Said; and the made-for-tv movies The Court-Martial of Jackie Robinson and The Tuskegee Airmen (1995).

He was the son of Sally and Floyd Braugher. He was married to actress Ami Brabson, until his death, with whom he had three children.

Andre’s paternal grandfather was Charley/Charlie William Braugher (the son of Frank Braugher and Mary Gunn). Charley was born in Mississippi, where his parents were from Coahoma County. Frank was the son of John Brough/Braugher and Eliza Berk.

Andre’s paternal grandmother was Willie Lee Coleman (the daughter of Charles J. Coleman and Annie Cole). Willie was born in Mississippi. Her family was also from Coahoma County. Charles was the son of Albert Coleman and Clarissa.

    His father Floyd was born in Mississippi to Charley William Braugher and Willie Coleman. Charley was in turn the son of Frank Braugher and Mary Gunn, all of Coahoma county, Mississippi.

    Frank’s parents were John Brough/Braugher and Eliza Berk, who married in Coahoma in 1867.

    Willie Coleman was born to Charles J. Coleman and Annie Cole. The family moved to Chicago from Coahoma county, and in 1930 Charles Coleman died in Chicago.
