Alyssa Farah Griffin is an American political strategist and television personality. A Republican, she has been Press Secretary to the Vice President, from October 2017 to September 2019, Press Secretary of the Department of Defense, from September 2019 to April 7, 2020, and White House Director of Strategic Communications, from April 7, 2020 to December 4, 2020. She is a co-host of The View, as well as a political commentator on CNN.
She is the daughter of Judy, a journalist, who has written for HuffPost, the Associated Press, and Comstock’s; and Joseph Farah (Joseph Francis Farah), a conservative political author and journalist, who worked for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner and The Sacramento Union, and founded, and is editor-and-chief of, WorldNetDaily (WND). She has stated that she is of Syrian/Lebanese descent on her father’s side, and of Ukrainian and Polish descent on her mother’s side, based on the results of a DNA test. She is married to Justin Griffin. Justin is the grandson of real estate developer and Republican Party activist Samuel A. Tamposi.
