Aloe Blacc is an American rapper, singer, record producer, and philanthropist. He was a member of musical duo Emanon.
His parents were Panamanian immigrants. Aloe is married to Mexican-born rapper, songwriter, MC, and radio personality Maya Jupiter, with whom he has two children.
Aloe has stated:
My parents are from Panama, so I grew up listening to a lot of meringue and salsa.
Aloe’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Carter.
I thought he was African American because of his English last name
Actually, he probably has Jamaican ancestry.
That’d be a good guess. A lot of Central American countries have Afro-descended people who came from the English-speaking parts of the Caribbean. Costa Rica is a pretty good example.
i know he looks just black but many afro panamanians have native in them due to them arriving to panama many hundred years ago there’s this mix called zambo which is basically a mix between african and native youll find them in many countries in central america. afro panamanians have been in panama for around 500 years so its very possible he has maybe 15%-20% native either way we couldnt tell get an african that has a native american grandmother he’d look just black his eyes might be a bit small but youll find africans like Ghanaian that have small eyes
