Al Rosen was an American professional baseball player. A third baseman and right-handed slugger, he played ten seasons for the Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was nicknamed “Flip” and “The Hebrew Hammer.”

He was the son of Rose (Levin) and Louis Rosen. His family moved to Miami, Florida, when he was eighteen months old. Al was married to Teresa Ann Blumberg, until her death, and then to Rita Kallman. He had three children with Teresa.

Al’s maternal grandmother was named Gertrude. Gertrude was born in Poland.
