She is married to painter and printmaker Andrew Taylor, with whom she has three children.

Rachel’s great-grandfather Francis was the son of Thomas Griffiths, who was born in Talybont, Cardigan, Wales, and of Mary Gibbs, who was born in Plymouth, Devon, England.
