Jack Whitehall is an English comedian, television presenter, actor, and writer. He is the son of actress Hilary Gish and producer Michael John Whitehall.
Jack’s paternal grandfather was Jack Baxter Whitehall (the son of Richard Ernest Baxter Whitehall and Edith Florence Herriott). Jack was born in Streatham, Wandsworth, London. Richard’s father, Richard Whitehall, was born in Welshpool, Montgomeryshire, Wales, to an English-born father and a Welsh-born mother. Richard’s mother, Jack’s great-great-grandmother, was Caroline Baxter. Jack’s great-grandmother Edith was the daughter of Jane Sophia Carpenter, who had Welsh ancestry.
Jack’s paternal grandmother was named Norah Louisa M. Kellond. Norah was born in Wandsworth, London.
Jack’s maternal grandfather was William Leonard Thompson Isbister (the son of John Malcolm Isbister and Muriel Cooper Brain). William was born in West Ham, Essex, England. The surname Isbister is Scottish. John was the son of John Malcolm Isbister and Marion Claydon. Muriel was the daughter of James Brain and Agnes Thompson.
Jack’s maternal grandmother was Dorothy Dix (the daughter of William Rufus Dix and Mary/Molly Dunn). William was the son of James Dix and Harriet Pearce/Ward.

Found his paternal grandparents marriage record:

They were married in Birmingham in late 1932. Mary Eileen’s surname “Eagles” is apparently a derivation of some old East Anglian name, so I’m guessing she’s English, though I can’t find any birth record for her.
We find out from a recent episode of ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ at this father is Welsh, or at least partially so. He says it in the last 10-15 seconds or so of this video, and most of this ancestors history takes place in Wales:

So with the new description, is he an 1/8 Welsh or is it even less than that? Both the Scottish and Welsh seem to be more recent. Perhaps we should start editing these when we get new information to seperate the ethnicities out by which parent it’s from, too.
Bosnian? mwhahahahaha
I’m sure he was joking. It is Jack Whitehall after all.
Now that I think about it, you might be right. It does not seem likely that he has Bosnian ancestry, but the way he phrased it in the tweet (I’ve kept it quiet but…) made it sound credible. And of course, he is not known for being the most serious person.
It was an obvious joke on count that he looks like one of Bosnian footballers (Pjanić, maybe, I don’t know, I’m a fail Bosnian).
