Nancy Cartwright is an American actress, voice actress, and comedian. She voices Bart Simpson, as well as other characters, on the series The Simpsons. Nancy is the daughter of Miriam and Frank Cartwright. Her niece (step-brother’s daughter) is singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter.

Nancy has two children with her former husband, late author Warren Murphy.

Nancy’s paternal grandfather was John Andrew Cartwright (the son of George Odell Cartwright and Blanche Gilliland). John was born in Indiana. George was the son of John A. Cartwright and Susanah Hiett. Blanche was the daughter of Allen B. Gilliland and Mary Frances Byers.

Nancy’s paternal grandmother was Charlotte Josephine Chance (the daughter of Frank Smith Chance and Katherine Whalen). Charlotte was born in Indiana. Frank was the son of John Chance and Rebecca Smith. Katherine was the daughter of Michael Whalen and Ellen.

Nancy’s maternal grandfather was Sylvester William Wendel (the son of William H. Wendel and Christina M. Sudhoff). Sylvester was born in Ohio, and was of German descent. Nancy’s great-grandfather William was the son of Jacob Wendel.

Nancy’s maternal grandmother was Mary Lucille Elizabeth “Lucy” Sommers (the daughter of Otto A. Sommers and Harriet Ann Mowbray). Mary was born in Ohio, and was of mostly German ancestry. Harriet was the daughter of Joseph Fenimore Mowbray and Lucy Roller.
