Emily Haines is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She has also performed as Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton. She is the lead singer, keyboardist, and songwriter for Canadian indie rock band Metric, and is also a member of indie rock band/musical collective Broken Social Scene. Feist is also a member of Broken Social Scene.
Emily was born in New Delhi, India, and raised in Ontario, Canada. Her father is American poet Paul Haines. Her mother is Jo Haines. Her siblings are Tim and Avery Haines.
Emily holds both Canadian and U.S. citizenship.
