by ethnic on April 23, 2009

Birth Name: David Clayton Henrie

Place of Birth: Mission Viejo, Orange, California, United States

Date of Birth: July 11, 1989

*English, German, Swiss-German, Welsh (father)
*Italian/Sicilian (mother)

David Henrie is an American actor, writer, director, and producer. His brother is actor Lorenzo Henrie (Lorenzo James Henrie).

His father has English, German, Swiss-German, and Welsh ancestry. His maternal grandparents emigrated from Catania, Sicily. David is a practicing Roman Catholic.

David is married to Maria Cahill, a Miss Delaware.

David’s patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his great-great-great-great-grandparents, John Henrie and Elizabeth Pugh, who were born in the United States, in the early 1800s. It is unclear if the surname Henrie has any French origin, but many people with this surname are not of French origin at all.

David’s paternal grandfather is David R. Henrie (the son of David Francis Henrie and Lillie V. Baker). David’s great-grandfather David Francis Henrie was the son of William Hunterson Henrie and Elizabeth A. Fry.

David’s paternal grandmother is Judith Wilson (the daughter of James Clayton Wilson and Mildred C. Clarke). James was the son of Elmer Ellsworth Wilson and Gertrude May Hetherington.

On his mother’s side, David is the grandson of Salvatore Finocchiaro and Agata C.

Finocchiaro and Agata C.->Salvatore Finocchiaro and Agata C.

Thought he would be Greek.

andrew June 20, 2017 at 2:37 am

It makes sense. “Finocchiaro” is usually a Sicilian last name, and Sicilians and Greeks often overlap.

I think David is a half Italian; he might even be 3/4th. You’d have to check up on that.

He has a brother named Lorenzo Henrie. His brother looks Latino.

Max Minghella? Is that the actor from Social Network? I believe he is half Italian and half Chinese. I think he’s handsome.

The French must love the Italians because they sure like to plant their seed inside of them.

David’s brother is considerably darker than him. Then again, Stacie Orrico is only a quarter and looks full-blooded Italian. I can see zero traces of German in her.

levangelista36 August 18, 2012 at 5:31 pm

Yes, well, I don’t think people care about that either way. LOL.

levangelista36 August 18, 2012 at 5:38 pm

I’m interested in ancestry, though. You appear to be, too. That’s very cool of you. :]

I was reading the Wikipedia page about Italian-Americans. Apparently, the stereotype about Italians being dark and Arab-looking comes from the fact that over 80% of our Italian immigrants were from the Southern Italy. They mostly came from Sicily, Calabria, Campania, and Abruzzo. Most of these Italians were impoverished. Hey, a bit like Frank Zappa’s dad who was a Sicilian peasant! But even when they came to America, they suffered widespread discrimination in housing and employment because of their looks and foreign culture.

In 1891, a bunch of Italian immigrants were lynched in New Orleans in one of the largest mass lynchings in U.S. history.

It also says there is no common identity among Italian-Americans. I think this in large part has to do with them being so mixed. I think hardly any of them made it past the first or second-generation without some mixture.

If you search, there are some interesting pictures of Sicilian/Italian immigrants when they were arriving in masses back in the day and also some neat photos of Sicilian peasants back in Sicily.

My favorite:

I’ll let you know that not all southern italians are dark skinned, it’s a really ignorant comment. Mostly are just white or have light olive complexion, FYI you can also find darker complexion even in north Italy or really blonde and blue eyed- sicilian people.
About the ‘Arab-looking’ comment, well, South Italy had spanish and arabic domination (among others from all over europe like german-scandinavia- austria, etc).

Well, I didn’t think Jason was full, or else why would he have the name Biggs? I know some Italian people changed their names but not many.

Mark Ruffalo has some French ancestry, right?

levangelista36 August 18, 2012 at 6:10 pm

Jason does look full Italian, though. So does Mark.

Eli Marienthal is hot, and he’s Jewish. I believe Eli played Biggs’ little brother in the American Pie films.

levangelista36 August 18, 2012 at 6:19 pm

That made me cry, Follers. Such a sad story.

levangelista36 August 18, 2012 at 6:32 pm

I think Eli is extremely handsome. He descends from great people. Still, that story broke my heart.

Hope Moretti June 30, 2012 at 4:07 pm

No no he is a Mexican!!

jackie May 7, 2011 at 1:29 am

why won’t he admit that he has some english or something background as well?? he is HALF italian from her mother, being her surname salvatore, but his surname Henrie (which I can’t find anybody else with that surname) has to be english, scottish or something

rafael June 24, 2011 at 4:54 pm

henrie is french

Smilelikeanidiot101 April 1, 2011 at 2:49 pm

He definitley has another Europian background, scottish, irish or maybe not even European. He definitley is part Italian, but something else too.. Henrie is not an italian surname.

Ariana June 24, 2011 at 4:47 pm

I read somewhere that he is Jewish.

danaeSUCKS January 13, 2011 at 4:17 pm

I think he’s kind of ashamed of being American. He’s always bragging about being Italian and everything, but he’s only half italian, he definately has to have irish ancestry? probably? scottish perhaps. Henrie is not an italian surname

danaeSUCKS January 13, 2011 at 4:20 pm

I think he’s got english and or gaelic ancestry too. But I don’t think he’ll ever admit it..

Anonymous August 11, 2010 at 4:29 pm

He has to have another European ancestry because his surname is not Italian.

ohhh italian;) July 19, 2010 at 11:17 pm
