Christian is the son of actress Victoria Windham, and Wendell Minnick. He is married to English actress Juliet Rylance.

Christian’s paternal grandfather was named Fordyce/Fordyse Charles “Ford” Minnick. Fordyce was born in Washington, D.C.

Christian’s paternal grandmother was Evalyn/Evelyn Lucinda Tyner (the daughter of Elmer E. Tyner and Lillian R. Copeland). Christian’s grandmother Evalyn was born in Indiana.
