I found part of Ali’s genealogy. She is very French, to put it lightly. She was born to Gene Allen Landry and Renella Ray, both Cajuns of French descent. She is a descendant of Marie Bernard and Rene Landry. If you extend her family tree, she may possibly have some Native and/or African ancestors, although it would be very distant.

Anyway, I was watching Eve today, and she would constantly refer to herself as a white woman, so I was curious about her ethnicity.

    She is gorgeous.

yeah. her genealogy is all over the Internet. I wonder why? Anyway I am Cajun and love that she is too.

and I just watch reruns of Eve for Ali. she is funny and beautiful

    • me says:

seriously that she regards herself as a white woman? she needs a mirror.

      • COMMONSENSE says:

um she needs a mirror? What are you talking about? Cajuns are white. I suppose you think Italians and a bunch of other whites need a mirror too? You need to get a life and stop being so ignorant

        • me says:

SparkleTime/COMMONSENSE you are ignorant, her ugly face has never deceived me.

          • COMMONSENSE says:

Who’s ugly face? Ali’s? She is definitely not ugly and much prettier than you. Why are you even on this page if you are only going to spout negativity and ignorance? You are nothing but a sad little troll. Ali is beautiful and was top six in the Miss Universe pageant

        • COMMONSENSE says:

I’m just as dark as Ali. We are even related through Marie Bernard. Our ancestry goes back to France. We are white. What is your problem? Should Catherine Zeta Jones not see herself as a white woman because she is darker than most Northern Europeans, even though she is in fact white? I now see what people say about you. you really are ignorant, racist, and stupid

          • me says:

You must have an inferiority complex, always arguing that a celebrity is white, I’m sorry for you

          • COMMONSENSE says:

I’m not arguing anyone is white. What is there to argue about? Ali IS white. There is nothing to it and she is not that well known of a celebrity. I came here to pay homeage to her because she has similar ancestry as me. You are the one who swooped in and made the comment “she regards herself as a white woman? (yes she does because she IS) she needs a mirror.” YOU came in and made that ignorant comment when most people were just discussing her genealogy. you are not a fan of this woman nor do you care about her. You came here solely to make ignorant remarks and call her ugly. I feel sorry for YOU

Ali is definitly a cajun girl, that looks like a mixture of white / french, she does not have any features that say she has any spanish in her.
I have one brother that last name is Landry, his Grandmother is white, and Grandfather is black, my brother dad is mixed with both, and he looks white, Ali looks like some of my brother relatives and my brother also. My brother looks like his dad very much and has nice fine hair that is straight and slightly wavy and is very light skin. My brother has one daughter that favors his dad and him with long straight hair and has grey eyes that sometimes turns hazel in color. He has also one other sister besides me that shares the same father of him that also favors him more than I do and looks like she is white, my niece which is my brother daughter favors her. My brother and I have the same mother, but different father’s. His Grandfather and Grandmother is both from Louisiana-I think the South side. I will strongly encourage my brother to research his peeps background history. Who knows she may be a relative. And hey I would not be surprise that she has black in her also, she has high cheek bones.

    Here is her ancestry: http://www.electroauthor.com/marcotte_genealogy/AliLandry.htm

I am a very, very distant cousin of hers. We share some of the same Acadian and Native American ancestors. From what I’ve seen regarding her family history, she has no Spanish ancestry. A lot of us who have Indigenous ancestors along with the French (AKA – Metis) have the hispanic look.

  5. Louisianian says:

The region is called “Acadiana” not “Arcadia”. Cajun is a regional and linguistic identity rather than an ethnicity. Cajuns are a mixture of the ethnic groups that settled South Louisiana and the Native American Groups found there. They are usually some French/Spanish/Native American/African and Irish, English, German or Italian and sometimes Middle Eastern.

She actually looks like she might be part Native American and Spanish, but in Acadiana, French trumps all.

Only recent immigrants are Hispanic in S. LA. Those of Spanish heritage were here in the 1700s and came directly from Spain during the period when LA was a Spanish colony.
