Warren Spahn was an American professional baseball player. He was a pitcher. He played mainly for the Boston Braves/Milwaukee Braves, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame as a Milwaukee Brave.

Warren was the son of Mabel (Maving) and Edward Peter Spahn.

Warren’s paternal grandfather was Alois J. Spahn (the son of Pvt. Peter Offner and Elizabeth Dentinger Spahn). Peter was born in Baden, Germany. Elizabeth was born in Alsace, France, the daughter of ethnic German parents, Anthony Dentinger and Marie Elizabeth Weisbeck.

Warren’s paternal grandmother was Christina Ball (the daughter of Francis Joseph Ball and Christina Wolfstirn). Warren’s grandmother Christina was born in Ontario, Canada, to ethnic German parents whose families were from Alsace. Francis was the son of Francis Martin Ball and Marie Eve Bersch.

Warren’s maternal grandfather was Herman Maving Miller (the son of John Maving and Johanna Ambellan). Johanna was German, and was the daughter of Julia Baumann, who was born in Kröchlendorff, Landkreis Uckermärk, Brandenburg.

Warren’s maternal grandmother was named Louise Kretchman.
