Wallace Beery was an American actor. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for The Champ (1931), tying with Fredric March for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931).

Wallace was the son of Frances Margaret and Noah Webster Beery. He had a daughter, who was adopted, with his former wife, actress Rita Gilman.

Wallace’s paternal grandfather was Peter Seitz Beery (the son of Nicholas Beery and Mary Seitz). Peter was born in Ohio. Nicholas was the son of John Beery and Margaret Shaver. Mary was the daughter of Peter Seitz and Catherine Saufley.

Wallace’s paternal grandmother was named Susannah Snider. Susanna was born in Ohio.
