Violet Brown was a Jamaican supercentenarian, who was the oldest verified living person in the world after the death of Emma Morano.

Her father, John Gordon Moss, was a sugar boiler. Her mother, Elizabeth (Riley), died at the age of 96. Violet was married to Augustus Gaynor Brown, until his death in 1978. She had six children.

Violet’s paternal grandfather was named Robert Moss.

Violet’s paternal grandmother was named Rebecca.

Violet’s maternal grandfather was named Robert Riley.
