Vincent Lindon is a French actor and filmmaker. He won the Best Actor Award at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival for his role in The Measure of a Man.

Vincent is the son of Alix and Laurent Lindon, who was director of the company Audioline. His father was Jewish, of French Jewish, Dutch Jewish, Polish Jewish, Alsatian Jewish, and German Jewish descent. His mother was of French and Irish ancestry. His stepfather was journalist Pierre Bénichou. His uncle is Jérôme Lindon, director of Les Éditions de Minuit. His cousin is journalist and writer Mathieu Lindon. Vincent’s maternal great-great-great-grandfather, Jules Dufaure (Jules Armand Stanislas Dufaure), was Prime Minister of France, from 19 February, 1871 to 24 May, 1873, from 23 February, 1876 to 12 December, 1876, and from 13 December, 1877 to 4 February, 1879.

He has two children, including a daughter with his former wife, actress and singer Sandrine Kiberlain.

Vincent’s paternal grandfather was Raymond Lindon (the son of Alfred Abner Lindenbaum/Lindon and Fernande Citroën). Raymond was a magistrat, First Advocate General at the Court of Cassation, and Mayor of Etretat, France, from May 1929 to March 1959. Vincent’s great-grandfather Alfred was born in Kraków, Grand Duchy of Kraków, as Abner Lindenbaum, and became a noted jeweller. He was the son of Moses Lindenbaum and Caroline Weil. Vincent’s great-grandmother Fernande was born in Enghien-les-Bains, Val-d’Oise, Île-de-France, France, and was the sister of industrialist André Citroën, founder of French automaker Citroën. Fernande’s father, Levie/Louis Barend/Bernard Citroën, was from Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Fernande’s mother, Masza Amalia/Amelia Kleinmann/Kleinman, was from Warsaw, Poland.

Vincent’s paternal grandmother was Thérèse Baur/Bour (the daughter of Charles Robert Baur and Rachel Weill). was born in Maisons-Laffitte, Yvelines, Île-de-France, France. Charles was the son of Elie Baur and Marie Appoline Kleiber, who were from Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France. Rachel was born in Versailles, Yvelines, the daughter of Rabbi Emmanuel Weill and Adèle Dreyfuss.

Vincent’s maternal grandfather was Christian Marie Dufaure (the son of Ferdinand Dufaure and Sabine de Laborde Noguez). Christian was French. Ferdinand was the son of Amédée Dufaure and Nancy Thomas. Sabine was born in Ustaritz, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the daughter of Gaston Andre de Laborde-Noguez and Fanny Marie-Louise Larrieu.

Vincent’s maternal grandmother was June O’Malley-Keyes (the daughter of Middleton Joseph O’Malley, later O’Malley-Keyes, and of Jane Byrnes Malley). June was born in London, England, of Irish origin. Middleton was the son of Middleton More O’Malley and Letitia Josephine Keyes. Jane was the daughter of Edward Malley, from Drumneen, County Mayo, Ireland.

    I thought his dad was part Jewish.

    Vincent is the great-grandnephew of French industrialist André Citroën (founder of Citroën), the first cousin of writer Mathieu Lindon and the great-grand-grand son of French Prime minister Jules Dufaure.
