Tyson Fury is a British professional boxer. He is the WBC heavyweight champion, having held the title since 2020. He has also held the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring magazine titles. He is the third heavyweight to hold The Ring magazine title twice. He is nicknamed “The Gypsy King.” He is 6′9″.

His father, John Fury, is a boxing cornerman, professional boxer, and bare-knuckle fighter. He was born in Tuam, Galway, Ireland, and is of Irish traveler descent. His mother was born in Belfast, and his maternal ancestry has roots in County Tipperary. His half-brother is professional boxer Tommy Fury.

Irish travelers are often referred to as Irish Gypsies, hence the nickname. Irish travelers are not related to Romani people and are ethnically Irish.

His surname, “Fury,” is said to be derived from the name “Ó Fiodhabhra.”

Tyson is married to Paris Mullroy, with whom he has six children.
