Thomas Vinterberg is a Danish film director. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director for Another Round (2020), which won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. He is also known for his films The Celebration (1998) and Far From the Madding Crowd (2015), among many others. He is the son of Ingerlise and film critic Søren Vinterberg. He is married to Helene Reingaard Neumann.

Thomas’s paternal grandfather was named Hermann Johan Bertel Sørensen/Vinterberg (the son of Hans Sørensen/Vinterberg). Hans was the son of Søren Hansen and Maren Andersdatter.

Thomas’s paternal grandmother was Annelise Aurelia Jensen (the daughter of Albert Charles Frederik Jensen and Karen Marie Johanne Rasmussen).
