Tanner Novlan is a Canadian actor and model. He is known for his roles on the series Roswell, New Mexico and on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.

His father is Canadian, and is mostly of Slovenian and French/French-Canadian descent. His mother is American, from California, and has English, Scottish, French-Canadian, and Cornish ancestry. He is married to American actress Kayla Ewell, with whom he has two children.

Tanner’s paternal grandfather was Clement Emile “Clem” Novlan (the son of Frank Novlan and Caroline Urh). Clement was born in Saskatchewan, to parents from Yugoslavia/Austria, now Slovenia. Frank was born in Žalna, Grosuplje, Slovenia, the son of Franc Novljan and Marijana Mehle.

Tanner’s paternal grandmother was Beatrice Evelyn Prince (the daughter of Charles Prince and Madeleine/Madeline Marie Ronvel). Beatrice was born in Saskatchewan, and was described on her obituary as a “descendant of an Acadian family expelled by the British.” Tanner’s great-grandmother Madeleine was born in Plabennec, Brittany, France.

Tanner’s maternal grandfather was Royce Edward Vizina (the son of Gilbert Edward Vizina and Ruth Loretta Marston). Royce was born in Nevada. Gilbert was born in Nevada, the son of Ernos Joseph Vizina, who was French-Canadian, from Québec; and of Harriet Elizabeth Rillston, whose parents were English. Ruth was born in Idaho, the daughter of William Alvin Marston and Harriet D. Morgan.

Tanner’s maternal grandmother was Heather A. Tully (the daughter of Robert Alexander Tully and Doris Emily Stephens). Heather was born in British Columbia. Robert was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, the son of Alexander Tully and Annie Milne. Doris was born in London, England, the daughter of James Frederick Stephens and Bertha Needham/Middleton.
