Slim Pickens was an American actor and rodeo performer. His roles included the films Rocky Mountain, Down Laredo Way, Tonka, One-Eyed Jacks, Dr. Strangelove, Major Dundee, An Eye for an Eye, The Cowboys, The Getaway, Blazing Saddles, Rancho Deluxe, The Apple Dumpling Gang, and 1941.
He was the son of Sallie Mosher (Turk) and Lewis/Louis/Bert Burton Lindley, a dairy farmer. His brother was actor Easy Pickens. He was married to Margaret Harmon, until his death, with whom he had two children.
