Slim Pickens was an American actor and rodeo performer. His roles included the films Rocky Mountain, Down Laredo Way, Tonka, One-Eyed Jacks, Dr. Strangelove, Major Dundee, An Eye for an Eye, The Cowboys, The Getaway, Blazing Saddles, Rancho Deluxe, The Apple Dumpling Gang, and 1941.

He was the son of Sallie Mosher (Turk) and Lewis/Louis/Bert Burton Lindley, a dairy farmer. His brother was actor Easy Pickens. He was married to Margaret Harmon, until his death, with whom he had two children.

Slim’s paternal grandfather was Lewis M. Lindley (the son of Isaac Chandler Lindley and Lucy Comstock). Lewis was born in Ohio. Isaac was the son of Josephus Lindley and Jane Chandler. Lucy was the daughter of Asahel Comstock and Lucy Dudley.

Slim’s paternal grandmother was Adelaide/Addie Corzine/Kezene/Kazine (the daughter of William R. Corzine and Sarah/Sallie Anderson). Adelaide was born in Texas. William was the son of Lewis Corzine and Jane Burton.

Slim’s maternal grandfather was Samuel P. Turk (the son of Christopher Columbus Turk and Lousara Gilmer). Samuel was born in Kentucky. Christopher was the son of Hiram K. Turk and Nancy Moore. Lousara was the daughter of Robert Gilmer and Sarah “Sally” Allen.

Slim’s maternal grandmother was Harriet/Hattie Mitchell (the daughter of William Fithian Mitchell and Sally Mosher). Harriet was born in Wisconsin. William was the son of William Mitchell and Naomi James. Sally was the daughter of Henry Mosher and Nancy Guthrie.
