Her roles include television’s Degrassi: The Next Generation, Shania: A Life in Eight Albums, Naturally, Sadie; 90210, Picture This, True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet, The Hazing Secret, and The Detail, and the films The Cross Road, Dead Like Me: Life After Death, Scream 4, Empire State, Sugar (2013), and Blood Honey. She has also been billed as Shenae Grimes-Beech.

Shenae has said said that she is of Irish and Italian descent. She is married to English indie rock singer, songwriter, musician, photographer, and model Josh Beech, with whom she has two children. She became a U.S. citizen in 2019, holding dual citizenship.

Shenae’s paternal grandfather was named Frank Grimes.
