Rupert’s paternal grandfather is Anthony Friend (the son of Reginald Stewart Irvine Friend and Mary Camilla Sharp). Anthony was born in Bridge, Kent, England. Reginald was the son of James Taddy Friend and Mary Stewart Irvine. Rupert’s great-grandmother Mary Sharp was the daughter of William Granville Sharp and Ellen Tomkins.
