Basically its true these days, female music stars are making more money being know as “exotic” so there is money to be made in making people think that you are a black mixed female. I am telling you the worldwide success of Halle Berry started this stuff. being just black is not interesting enough for the general public. It used to be with Janet Jackson and Dianna Ross, Tina Turner, even Vanessa Williams never played up her admixtures. She is making money on what is popular and racist people want to know, because 100% and beauty does not go together .

Rihan thagna is not just black. Her grandmother was white. Why should she say she is all african descent when she isn’t? Unless you are 100 percent of African ethnicity then you aren’t 100 percent African. She is multiracial like a lot of people. Like Halle Berry even though Halle Berry identifies as just black… I think, tho that is biologically impossible.

      • midori29 says:

@cwm, a good number of black people in the Americas have white grandmothers. And all blacks are multicultural. Im not saying Rhianna should deny her white grandmother. But what I am saying is that she portrays herself as alot more mixed than she really is. Its not like one of her parents is totally white. She is mostly African. And Rhianna considers herself black but she tries to look more mixed with fake hair caucasian texture and skin bleach. Which is evident.

Grace Geely from the show Empire is a light skinned black girl from the Cayman islands in the Carribean and she does not try to overly mix herself up like Beyonce, Kerri Washington or Rhianna who are also of Carribean descent. Grace just says she is a light skinned black girl. Rhianna and Beyonce display self hate and they are bad for black women.

She was bullied for being mixed race…. And you are here sayin she’s black…. Ridiculous.

      • midori29 says:

@Big mama, I seriously doubt Rhianna was bullied as she says, she may be playing that up. There are alot of lighter skinned black people in Barbados, I have visited there, I am Carribean and I have some relatives from Barbados. Rhianna is not that light, especially when you have half black people who look like Mariah Carey all over the Carribean who many consider themselves black. Rhianna plays to American people who do not travel, she can basically say anything and fake the foolishness.

    • BigMama says:

Her mother, Monica Braithwaite, is a retired accountant of Afro-Guyanese background, and her father, Ronald Fenty, is a warehouse supervisor of Barbadian and Irish descent. Rihanna has two brothers, Rorrey and Rajad Fenty, and two half-sisters and a half-brother from her father’s side, each born to different mothers from his previous relationships.

Speaking to Allure in 2008, RiRi revealed that she was bullied at school because some of her fellow pupils thought she was too “white”. She said that she was cursed by her so-called friends, but had managed to overcome the bullies to become one of the biggest pop stars in the world. She said: “I didn’t understand. I just knew I saw people of all different shades and I was light. Now I’m in a much bigger world.”

@Bigmama, Rhianna will do or say anything for fame and money. I have seen her in real life, up close before her skin bleach and fame, she is only a medium toned dark caramel brown color naturally. Not very light at all. That story sells records, and makes her seem much more exotic. She is overwhelmingly West African, kinky bushy hair and green eyes. Google some young pics of her.

She could be naturally light-skinned, but with a tan in those photos. Other than that, I don’t disagree with you.

      @modori

Is it true that she said people made fun of her, and called her white girl? Because I don’t. See it

      • andrew says:

you know kids can be rude, I heard similar stuff from Bob Marley.

        • midori29 says:

There are a good number of much lighter blacks in the Carribean than Rhianna and Bob Marley. Compared to Jamaican Colin Powell they are actually medium complected. I dont think Bob or Rhianna would be highly teased based upon appearences. Bob may have been only teased when they discovered his dad was white, otherwise you cannot even tell. Bob Marley looks East African Ethiopian and there are much lighter Jamaicans than him.

          • andrew says:

maybe the White Jamaicans are lighter than Bob Marley, actually I alwais thought he looked different from the other Wailers members even before I read he was a mulatto.

        • midori29 says:

@Andrew considering there are blacks in Jamaica, Barbados and the entire Carribean islands who look like Kaci below,Rhianna would be a regular black Carribean girl

      • California says:

Probably had to with jealousy and colorism. Lighter skinned girls with blue or green eyes get hated on by darker girls with brown eyes. Rihanna’s natural hair texture is considered “good hair” in the Black community. The other girls probably had tighter curls. Anyway before someone gets offended, I just want to state that not all Black people are like this, but a lot are.

        • midori29 says:

@California Rhianna does not have good hair at all, she has regular Afro textured hair and she wears fake caucasian hair weaves like Beyonce.

          • midori29 says:

@California, i dont follow good and bad hair. I have curly hair but i think afro hair is pretty

      • midori29 says:

@Fuzzybear, I dont see it either, thats for people who are not familiar with Barbados or the black Carribean. And she was even darker when she was little. I have traveled to Barbados and have relatives from Barbados and I am Guyanese like Rhianna. Rhianna acts as if she is the only light skinned black girl from Barbados puhleaseee, they have much lighter brighter and straight hair blacks living in Barbados. She is only trying to make naive people think she is sooo exotic and rare, which is not the case. Some of moms friends were part Chinese, Indian, American Indian and Portuguese mixed with mostly African and still are recognized and known as black. basically if you look like you have African dna people know you are Black. And there are Mariah Carey looking black mixed peoples in Barbados and Guyana. I think her and Beyonce have contrived this exotic image.

  3. midori29 says:

Honestly, its sadly annoying how BLACk celebrities get makeup , skin bleach and hair weaves then convince the non-black public that they are soo mixed when they are not. Beyonce does the same thing with fake white hair. I recently read an article on her that says Rhianna lets her curls down for the summer, are some non-black people so stupid???? Cmonnn Rhianna , nor Beyonce have no curly white textured hair they have BLACK AFRO hair and they wear wigs and weaves, they are BLACK people.
See pics of Rhianna before the weave and skin bleach. Honestly if its working for her, and it is she is getting paid. I cannot be mad at her but its sending a BAD message to young black girls and Africans, etc.
I think the general public agrees that black is beautiful , especially when it relates to white, ie. Halle Berry so wordly popular, means people think BLACK is beatuiful, they just dont want to admitt. it. And the general public is too blind to see it.
Rhianna and her real hair and skin (the site says it was photshopped ), regardless, I have seen Rhianna in person and the hair and nose is fake.

    Rhianna

    • andrew says:

why being so jealous, there are several leaked pics of a Rihanna (naked or not) where she shows the tan lines, I dont think she bleaches her skin.

      • midori29 says:

@Andrew how stupid you are, Ive seen Rhianna in person with my own eyes when she first came out, YES she and Beyonce did bleach their skin. Nothing with jealous, I am telling the absolute truth. I give credit where credit is due, Halle Berry and Alicia keys are gorgeous actually mixed women who never bleached their skin and have real curly hair. Beyonce and Rhianna are wannabee fake weave wearers. I like Rhianna ALOT better than Beyonce though.

        • midori29 says:

@Andrew when Rhianna came out with her song Pon the Replay over 6 years ago, and I am from the Carribean, I saw her at a club in Washington, DC, I was 2 inches away from her, I swear and she was two shades darker than she is now. A golden brown . Not as light as she is now.

          • andrew says:

            @midori

I hadn’t the opportunity to see Rihanna in person but she’s free to bleach or tan according to her personal tastes. She still looks like a mixed race person to me. I am not much into this bleaching stuff that I find controversial since most of white people like to tan.
