I thought this site was dedicated to talking about ETHNICITY not social constructs. BLACK or NEGRO are NOT ETHNICITIES. if she is part irish or guyanese, people who deny that she is anything but black , need to get a goddamn dictionary. BLACK is a RACE (btw, race does not exist by any scientific measure, it is a social construct), saying she is afro-bajan, guyanese and irish is simply state her ETHNICITY. as a fact. i guess some people are just slow

Omg she is black it does not matter if her dad is half irish.God my mom is black and creole im mixed with native white and mexican black is just the dominate race and rihanna is not light skinned she is brown skined there are way lighter females and males that are lighter and have both black parents. I dont see why when white people or other races of people find a black woman beautiful they gotta break down her race to make them feel like they had a part in why shes so pretty just like back in the 1900’s if your dad was white or your mother and if you were half black you are black. I go to school with all white kids that want to say im mixed because im lighter skined black girl i have been treated that i am black all my life and so has rihanna she is black at the end of the day 25% of her white side isnt going to change anything she says she is black so she is and almost everyblack person has something mixed in them through slavery and everything else that happened way back then but were black deal with it beyonce halle berry rihanna nicki minaj all black damn this shit pisses me off black is beautiful know that!

    • It is I says:

You sound like a damn fool. Black is not the dominant race, its a race just like everybody else. What the hell do you people expect her to do, just disrespect her Irish grandmother by telling her “You dont matter.” And if everybody’s mixed then why the hell are you spouting out that black is this and black is that? You got some security issues sista. You need to clear that black supremacy crap out of your head because you sound racist.

      • diamond says:

actually you sound like a damn fool and when i said the dominate race i ment that if you have kids with a white person there not going to come out looking white they would come out looking black right?!and im not racist its the truth since almost every so called black person is mixed with something why when rihanna get famous white people want to break down her race and make her seem more close to white then she is so if they feel that way they would have to say every so called black person is mixed to and all close to white sista and for your fyi my grandmother is white to but im still black and i havent been told different maybe if i get famous people would say im not!

Plenty of the initial slaves in the caribean were Irish anyway (forced to places like barbados and monserat by Oliver Cromwell) hence the similarities between the irish and caribean accent, so she could have had some irish blood way down the line anyway.

You’ll insult people in South Africa if you call them black if they’re mixed and vice versa. The say coloureds and blacks. Just to let you know, the opinion of what is black is not the American opinion all over the world.

Also, the black is not always the dominant gene. Australian aboriginals black gene is not as dominant as the white European one, but yes the African and Asian genes are stronger than the European.

well were in america and they call us black or african american wich is both wrong but hey thats what where called. And so called black people dont even have a history other than us knowing that are ancesstors are slaves from africa wich is named after a white man. We cant trace back are tribe or country of where we are from africa is big and im sure all of us came from they same tribe or country.also black people are a very mixed race maybe the most mixed race in the world but in america we are called nigroes, blacks, african american,afro-american etc…What im trying to say you cant just say the famous ones are not black their vice versa you would have to say all of us are!

I am the same complexion as rihanna and have light brown eyes yes my dads family has alot different admixture in them like creole and my moms family have alot of admixture too, but all of us come in variety of differnt skin tones as do all black people, my little cousin has dark skin and hazel eyes, and her brother is my complexion with green blue hazel eyes black people come in all different colors, hair textures, and eye colors is my point I still consider her black because no black person in the U.S or many other places are a 100% black. If society sees a light skin black they think they are white get real.

    • diamond says:

she is black damn deal with it if you saw her on the street and she wasnt famous you would say she is black her birth certificate says she is black the gonverment says she is black she says that she is black damn get over the chick is black and always gone be black till the day she die shit 25% of her dont make no damn difference!
