@nina since when have you ever seen a “BLACK” person with green eyes if there wasnt something else mixed in there… quit being so ignorant

    • Maria says:

To Nina – Because I am offended by your statement here are some facts. James Earl Jones the actor has green eyes. Unless I am wrong he is BLACK Afro American. Just to educate you a little bit Nina, if Rhianna was around in the 1950/60’s she would be “categorized” by the Caucasian (white) majority as coloured or negro. Exactly like Dorothy Danbridge who could pass as white – with an exception that she had a permanent tan, black hair and was regularly seen with her BLACK mother. Stop putting us in boxes and defining us on your belief. Rhianna and Beyonce do not have to have blond hair, blue eyes and white skin to be beautiful.

      • LMFAO says:

James Earl Jones has Irish, Choctaw and Cherokee blood as well as African blood.

        • LMFAO says:

That’s is hardly just African-American as you put it. Same applies to Beyonce (native american & french aside from African) & Dorothy Dandridge (mexican, english & native american aside from African). They have far more in them than to be labelled just African American.

            To Lamfo

African American doesn’t mean your just black, hence the American part of the phrase. The avg black person you bump into most likely will have some other heritage. So African for that part of you heritage and American for the melting pot(everything else).Unlike the Africans who come here, who know their background, the avg black descendant here isn’t usually that lucky.Take Ms.Dandridge, your assuming that mexican part is the whitish looking type, but it could have just easily been the Afro-mexican type who just says they’re mexican(which they are).Next your assuming Beyonce being half Creole means she’s native, maybe yes maybe not.Creole doesn’t mean you have to be native.Btw I’m also Creole on both sides of my family,so I think I can speak on it.Yet I still say I’m African American.James Earl Jones being native, both those groups of natives are so mixed(with black and white blood)Cherokee the most,I’m also part Choctaw on my fathers side, and yet I’m still African American. Now this I find funny,a white person can have 16% black and 6-10%asian,and still say he’s white(James Watson),and no one says anything. However a black person has a mixture to them, and calls themself African American suddenly there’s a problem

          • LMFAO says:

I’m not American so I don’t get why a black person who is mixed is labelled just ‘African American.’

Because it means everything you are, your letting the African part get in the way.Now true we should just be called American. But what’s wrong with being called AA,I proud of my African Heritage.I’m showing respect to those people who came here, were treated like sh*t,but they survived. They achieved great thing here, although they always get left out of the history books. So when a person calls me black,I take pride in it,while others get offended. However don’t worry,I sure they’ll change it from AA to something else in another 10yrs

          • rede says:

Im with you man. we should be proud of our backgroumds, all of us.

        • Maria says:

          You also forgot the Black.

  4. nina says:

Rihanna is black just like Beyonce is black just Keri Hilson is BLACK…..yes they are light skinned, but they are black!!!!! Black mothers and black fathers……….She even talks about her being proud of being one the few black women to be on the cover of vogue….so let’s stop with these lame debates when the person we are debating over simple states exactly what she is…and that is BLACK, of african descent…what ever is the new politically correct word for black people these days!

    • Catherine says:

so.. just for the record NINA when have you EVER seen an african american with GREEN eyes? she must be more than just BLACK… quit trying to make people feel stupid because you’re the only one that looks dumb…

      • black wallstreet aka Fuzzybear says:

        To Catherine

I don’t know about Nina, but I see them all the time

      • Maria says:

My daughter has green eyes. Her father is black and my mother is black what does not make her? Maybe if she is older and ever marries a Caucasian (white) man then has children I would consider my grandchildren mixed race. Otherwise she is black and has green eyes as a result of some slave owner raping one of our ancestors 150 years ago.
I hope this is a satisfactory answer.
