There are millions of caribbean people who are a cook up of African, Indian and European ancestry.
Yes.
There sure is.
Caribbeans and Latinos have multiple ancestries. And people want to be like them? I don’t think so. I despise the fact that somebody wants to be like one another. For example, if one has light skin and the other wants to be like one, that’s being jealous and hating your own skin tone. Or if one has dark skin and one wants to be like one, that’s the same thing. People should feel secure and happy about the way they are, regardless of ethnicity. I don’t like people being jealous of others, just because their ancestors chose to intermarry Natives and that was fine. I’m mixed and am happy the way I am. For a Caribbean and Latino, it doesn’t matter if someone is light or dark skin. One should be happy about their skin tone. God can make anybody like that. Be happy if you’re light or dark skin.
You want to know why black people are always claiming celebrities who say they are mixed? Because in the media it seems like they are always trying to associate some sort of white with a celebrity or light skin tone. Black people don’t like that. We want to make sure people know Black is beautiful, Black is smart. There always seems to be a shortage of these people in the industry though. It seems that way because people always want to associate ugly or dumb with just being black.
That is why it sickens me when a celebrity deliberately lightens their skin tone to appeal to more people. It just seems like there is so much self hate going on with celebrities.
I agree. I get annoy when people want to be associate with others regarding ethnicity and skin colour. I felt sorry for Rihanna, maybe the kids who bullied her were either jealous of her skin or they don’t like light skin. I don’t know why people get jealous of Latinos because the Europeans (mainly the Spaniards) were the first to intermarry the natives in Latin America and later Blacks and Asians and that’s how they’re mixed. I’m a Latina myself and mixed. So non-Latinos want to copy them. I don’t see why.
Actually your chronology might be off. The Native population died off pretty quickly in many parts and black slaves were brought in and the intermarrying of black slaves and Europeans contributed highly to the Latino race. And people are not jealous of Latinos. Who gives you that idea? In fact, many blacks are fighting right now for Hispanics after the Arizona law which was blatantly anti-Hispanic. All the black leaders stoop up against it so there is much solidairty between Latinos and Blacks.
i agree they like latinos cuz we let them make their own lands in haiti n dominican republic n jamaica
To Marley
I agree with Tess, also some of those Spaniards that married the natives were Black or half black already when they got there.Another thing, kids are mean they will bully you for nothing, just to do it.They may be coping their parents, who knows
thank you who cares, i completely agree with you !
what a disappointment she was bullied and called white because were bullied and called black!!!!!!
white boys thinks shes white and not black. It makes me so mad, because even black girls say she is not black. It like people want her to be white or something.
I think some non black guys like the fact that she is exotic and not white.
Again, if she was butt ugly, they would say she is black. Sh eis stunning so she can’t be black. Black is associated with bad and ugly and white is associated with good and pretty. Very sad. The reality is when you go down to Barbados, people are Bajan first and then something else. Most blacks in those islands say they are black first. Just the way it is but to sell records, they get her to underline the other things she is. Fascinating.
