He has been President of the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, since 2019; as well as, a fellow at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics, executive editor of National Review, a columnist and/or interviewer for Slate and VICE, and a contributing editor at National Affairs and The Atlantic.
His parents are Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants, who came to the U.S. in 1976.
