Lesley Manville is an English actress. Her roles include the films Grown-Ups (1980), Dance with a Stranger, High Hopes, Secrets & Lies, Topsy-Turvy, All or Nothing, Vera Drake, Another Year, Maleficent, Mr. Turner, Phantom Thread, Let Him Go, and Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, and television’s Emmerdale, Cranford, River, Mum, and The Crown, as well as many stage performances.

Lesley is the daughter of Nora “Jean” and Ronald Leslie Manville. She has a son with her former husband, actor and filmmaker Gary Oldman.

Lesley’s paternal grandfather was Alfred James Manville (the son of William Manville and Louisa Payne). Alfred was born in Brighton, Sussex, England. William was the son of Charles Manvell and Elizabeth Dinnage.

Lesley’s paternal grandmother was Eliza Sargent (the daughter of Henry Sargent and Mariah Chandler).

Lesley’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Edwards.
