Noa Kirel is an Israeli singer, songwriter, actress, model, television host, and reality television personality. She represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song “Unicorn,” finishing third. She is a judge on Israel’s Got Talent.
She is the daughter of Ilana, who owns a boutique fashion store, and Amir Kirel, who is CEO of imported glass business Glassco Glass. Her father’s family is Ashkenazi, of Austrian Jewish descent. Her mother’s family is Sephardi and Mizrahi, of Moroccan Jewish descent. Her father has relatives who were killed in Auschwitz. Noa was named Noya at birth, but during a severe kidney illness when she was three, a rabbi suggested a name change to Noa, meaning “movement” in Hebrew. Noa served in the IDF from 2020 to 2022.
Noa’s maternal grandfather was a rabbi, and a sofer STM, a Jewish scribe.
