James O’Connor is an Australian professional rugby union footballer. He made his international debut for Australia in 2008 at the age of eighteen. James has been labelled as “the Justin Bieber of Australian rugby.”

James is the son of parents from New Zealand. His maternal grandparents are from South Africa. This, along with his Australian birth, meant he was eligible for all three major Southern Emisphere rugby nations.

James’ paternal grandparents were Maurice Edward Odlin “Lofty” O’Connor (the son of Alice Kathleen) and Elaine. Maurice was a WWII Veteran from Wellington, New Zealand.
