Mitski’s paternal grandfather was Frederick Davis Laycock (the son of Frederick Ellenwood Laycock and Adeline Irma Newcomb). Mitski’s grandfather Frederick was born in Stoneham, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Mitski’s great-grandfather Frederick was the son of Charles Henry Laycock, whose parents were English, and of Florence E. Page. Adeline was the daughter of Davis Willard Newcomb and Marie Lizette Pierce.

Mitski’s paternal grandmother was Linda Helen Ruest (the daughter of Ernest E. Ruest and Mary Rose Perry). Linda was born in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts.
