He was born in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, West Germany. His father, Josef Fassbender, is German. His mother, Adele, is Irish, from Larne, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. When he was two, his family moved to Killarney, County Kerry, in the Republic of Ireland, where he was raised. His father was a chef at West End House, the family’s restaurant in Killarney. He was raised Catholic.
Michael is married to Swedish actress and dancer Alicia Vikander, with whom he has two children.
Michael is said to be related to Irish independence leader and politician Michael Collins. It is not clear if this genealogical connection has been verified.
well this guy truly gives german vibes though he is irish as well.
Really looks more german than anything else, his face structure is very germanic.
I do not know why people stereotype German so much? Germans are not all blond and blue-eyed. Fasbender could even be a Spanish, French or Portuguese. On the contrary, I have seen countless dark and dark-eyed Germans, even though they are children of blond relatives. A totally alienated view and a lot of stereotype that German has to be tall and headstrong as well.
His phenotype is definitely atypical in Spain and expecially in Portugal. Actually Germany has a lot more blond-haired types than British Isles, but Michael Fassbender looks more Irish than German, and it’s not about his colouring.
It honestly really depends where in Germany you’re talking about:

The overall averages for blond hair between the two countries, though, is largely the same:

So, on average Germany isn’t a lot more “blonde” than the UK, and certainly not to a degree where you can use that characteristic to easily delineate the two on sight.
That’s because they are blonde haired, blue eyes and tall.Michael clearly inherited his mothers Irish genes not his fathers. So his just Irish. One of the common Irish looks is dark hair and brown/light eyes, that is where he gets it from.
did you know that germans look different from region to region? you think west germans look the same like east germans or north germans look like south germans? they all look different, there is no “typical” german, germans are mixed with celtic nordic slavic baltic jewish dna
according to this genealogy, he is related to Michael Collins
