Dr. Gates stated in that episode that her Southeast Asian ancestry was Malagasy.
She is one of these so-called biracials but is actually only 1/3 Subsaharan African.
Biracial,I don’t like using that word, but you guys insist on it. Okay saying someone is biracial is very tricky especially on this side of the hemisphere. That 31% is what she inherited, her brother Marc could have more. Dna is funny, you inherit 50% from each parent, but it’s no telling what 50% you get, it a crap shoot. No Biracial person going to be the same
He father is Jewish thus “biracial” is legit. Swallow it.
Clearly her mom isn’t just African American if Maya is only 31% European. Her mom is mixed race like Quincy Jones. 34% white.
Cleary neither one seem to understand what African American means, even though it’s been explained atleast a few dozen times
correvtion: neither one of you
The only person who doesnt understand African American is you. I’m obviously saying that her mother should be listed as biracial as well since she’s more mixed than her daughter
Maya’s mater0qnal great-grandmother looked white: https://minnieriperton.wordpress.com/2010/06/13/minnie-with-her-namesake-and-other-family-members/
@Multiethnicchick
Well clearly you don’t understand that African American is just our cultural name. It doesn’t tell you what our fully ancestry is. So when you people say a certain person is more than African American, we never said they weren’t. That’s why the definition says(partial or full African) which leaves room for other ancestral backgrounds. Which everyone knows African American have. So you suggesting her mother or whomever being listed as biracial is not something I’m debating against
@andrew
The grandma looks like what we call high yellow or yellow bone
Thank you.
and you are brainless :-(
No she isn’t ugly but you are an idiot :)
