Maureen Starkey Tigrett was a British hairdresser.

Maureen was the only child of Florence “Flo” (Barrett) and Joseph “Joe” Cox, a ship’s steward. She was married to American businessperson Isaac Tigrett, until her death. Maureen had three children with her former husband, singer, songwriter, drummer, and actor Ringo Starr; and a daughter with Isaac.

Maureen’s paternal grandfather was named John William Cox. John was born in Rawtenstall, Lancashire, England.

Maureen’s paternal grandmother was Julia Kelly (the daughter of Patrick Kelly and Mary Kenan). Julia was an Irish emigrant, from Rathdowney, Laois, Laois.

Maureen’s maternal grandfather was named George Barrett.

    John was the son of Lawrence Cox and Mary Ann. Lawrence was an Irish immigrant, from Boyle, County Roscommon. Mary Ann was English.
