So he’s less than 25% French/French-Canadian
Of course. Josephine’s father, Joseph Pulcher, was of Turkeminstany descent.
source?
Joseph Pulcher was born in France, and there are lots of French Pulchers.

Why did you even decide to look into this? What a waste of time.
He could be an ethnic German from Alsace-Lorraine
This genealogy details his French-Canadian side of the family very well:
http://www.nosorigines.qc.ca/genealogy_canada_pedigree.aspx?pid=1462630&lng=fr
He has Native ancestors:
http://www.nosorigines.qc.ca/GenealogieQuebec.aspx?genealogie=Catherine_Anenontha&pid=19840&lng=fr&partID=19842 (Huron, same ancestor as Angelina Jolie descends from)

Irish:

And one American, with English and Scottish ancestry:

Yes please add that to his ethnicity.
@madman
I think a rule about distant/remote ancestors must be made. If the Iroquois/ Huron ancestors is reported in Angelina’s profile, this must be applied to Mark too. He also descends from the Swiss-French immigrant Pierre Miville (check Madonna’s profile), who is also a Celin Dion’s ancestor. The same Celine shares with Jared Leto a First Nations ancestors, but it’s omissed in her profile, while it’s reported in Jared’s page. And so on. All French-Canadians descend from the same ancestors and all these non French forebears are in their genome.
I’m not a moderator here and can’t edit profiles. I found a more detailed genealogy of his French-Canadian side, and the moderators are free to add the foundings if they want. I won’t go through the whole genealogy again to find the fractions, someone else can do that if they care enough. It took a while the first time.
“And is it relevant to include 1/8192th of anyone’s ancestry?” – Madman, 2018/09/18 at 7:27 am
Agreed. It’s beyond trivial, even in the context of genealogy.
I already said I’ll draw the line at 1/1024.
Other than Maxime Bernier’s all-important 1/1024 Portuguese ancestry. I’m invoking a mulligan or an ad hoc on that one. I’m allowed one.
What’s your point? I’ve taken note of your limit being 1/1024 since a while back, which is reasonable. I’ve stopped making comments about these remote ancestries a long time ago. If Mark’s non-French ethnicities are even further back, I see why it’s not added. I just said I won’t go through the genealogy again just to get the fractions, because I don’t care that much about ancestries that are that small, especially if it’s European (if it’s Native, It’s a little bit more interesting).
@ follers
I agree about the 1/1024 limit, with some possible exceptions.
I believe the Portuguese ancestry of Bernier is worth mentioning because it’s the maternal surname.
I would also like to know which is the rule about cousinship relations.

Arthur Piccolo was born in Acerra, Province of Naples, Campania, Italy.
So talented….
Apparently Mark Ruffalo is guilty of “minority erasure” for playing a Portuguese-American.

They should have gotten Tom Hanks.
or James Franco
@ follers
Julia Roberts played a Portuguese-American in “Mystic Pizza”.
Mark’s paternal great-grandparents were from Girifalco, Province of Catanzaro, Calabria.
