Linda McCartney was an American musician, photographer, businessperson, publisher, and animal rights activist. She was the keyboardist and backup singer for the group Wings, which was fronted by her husband, musician Paul McCartney.

Linda was the daughter of Louise Sara (Lindner) and Lee Eastman (born Leopold Vail Epstein), a showbusiness attorney and art collector. She had a daughter with her former husband, Melville See, Jr.; and three children, including fashion designer Stella McCartney, with Paul, to whom she was married until her death.

Linda’s paternal grandfather was Louis Epstein (the son of Max Barntovsky/Epstein and Mary Solomon). Louis was born in New York, of Polish Jewish descent, with his father being from Augustow. Mary was the daughter of Isaac Solomon and Sarah Boschye.

Linda’s paternal grandmother was named Stella/Della Freyer. Stella was a Russian Jewish immigrant.

Linda’s maternal grandfather was Max Joseph Lindner/Linder (the son of Isador F. Lindner and Esther Freyer). Max was born in New York, of Polish Jewish descent. Isador was the son of Isaac Lindner and Esther Freyer. Linda’s great-grandmother Esther was born in Matrabowa, the daughter of Rabbi Shimon Freyer and Zerlina Friedlander.

Linda’s maternal grandmother was Stella Dryfoos (the daughter of Isaac Dreifuss/Dryfoos and Sarah Schwartzenberg/Schwarzenberg). Stella was born in Ohio, to German Jewish parents. Isaac was from Wandsbek, Hamburg, and was the son of Herz Dreifus/Dreifuss and Musele Miriam/Mischele/Michele Benjamin. Sarah was from Gaugrehweiler, Rhineland-Palatinate, and was the daughter of Lásaro/Loeser Natan Schwarzenberg and Eva Bach.

    There was a rumour about a Linda’s relation to the Eastman family of Kodak, evidently false.
