Leigh Whannell is an Australian screenwriter, actor, film producer, and film director. He is known for writing and directing the films The Invisible Man (2020), Insidious: Chapter 3, and Upgrade, writing the films Dead Silence and Insidious, as well as for having written and co-starred in the film Saw, a franchise he also co-created.

Leigh’s father was a cameraman in the television industry. He is married to Corbett Tuck, and has three children.
