Lee Marvin was an American actor. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for Cat Ballou (1965).

Lee was the son of Courtenay Washington “Court” (Davidge), a fashion writer and beauty consultant, and LaMont/LaMond/Leonard Waltman Marvin, an advertising executive and head of the New York and New England Apple Institute. Lee was married to Pamela Feeley, until his death. He had four children with his first wife Betty Ebeling.

Lee’s paternal grandfather was Henry A. Marvin (the son of Edward Marvin and Mary McCann). Henry was born in Illinois. Edward was the son of Seth Marvin and Lydia McConnell. Mary was the daughter of William Harrison McCann and Sally/Sarah M. Smith.

Lee’s paternal grandmother was Elizabeth Anne/Ann Hollingsworth (the daughter of Thomas Nicholas Hollingsworth and Anna/Ann M. Glavin). Elizabeth was born in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, to English parents. Thomas was born in Manchester, Lancashire, the son of James Nicholas Hollingsworth, from Ballycanew, County Wexford, Ireland, and of Mary Ann Murphy. Lee’s great-grandmother Ann was born in Warrington, Lancashire, the daughter of Dennis and Ann.

Lee’s maternal grandfather was William Fendall Davidge (the son of Walter Dorsey Davidge and Anna Louisa/Louise Washington). William was born in Washington, D.C. Walter was the son of Francis/Frank Hathorn/Hawthorn Davidge and Anna Maria Dorsey. Lee’s great-grandmother Anna was the daughter of Bailey Washington III and Ann Matilda Lee.

Lee’s maternal grandmother was Estelle/Estell Courtenay Washington (the daughter of Malcolm Baylor Washington and Fannie/Frances Walker Hunton). Estelle was born in Prince William County, Virginia. Malcolm was the son of Temple Mason Washington and Georgianna/Georgeanna Langhorne/Langhorn Baylor. Frances was the daughter of Charles Henry Hunton and Elleanor/Eleanor/Ellen B. T. McNeale/McNeal/McNeil.
